North Texas Mormons to host French Horn Jubilee Christmas Concert

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host a French Horn Jubilee Christmas Concert at their Colleyville chapel on Friday, December 15, 2017. The concert will feature over 125 French Horn students from GCISD, KISD, HEBISD and other North Texas schools, as well as members of the UT Arlington Horn Choir and other professional musicians. The event, open to French horn players of all ages and abilities, has been held annually in Colleyville since 2011 and is part of the Church’s annual “Light the World” Christmas campaign.

Gerry Wood, Instructor of Horn at UT Arlington, and his wife, Molly Wood, professional musician and composer, are co-hosting the event. In the past, this event has drawn hundreds of people from Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, Keller, and surrounding communities, as the musicians perform festive holiday music in what has been hailed as the largest holiday gathering of French Horns in America.

The concert will be held on Friday, December 15, from 7:00-8:30 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. McDonwell School Road in Colleyville. Admission is free and the attire is casual.
