PROSPER, TX — In a powerful show of community support, Cornerstone Assistance Network NCT hosted its annual Back-to-School Shoe and School Supplies Drive, benefiting more than 450 students across Prosper, Frisco, Celina, and Gunter.

Through the generosity of local donors and the dedication of volunteers, hundreds of new backpacks were filled with essential school supplies and brand-new shoes to help children start the school year with confidence.

Youth volunteers assist in transporting donated backpacks and school supplies to distribution sites.

“This event is all about making sure every child in our community feels prepared and supported,” said Jennifer Weddle, Director of Operations. “We want families to know they’re not alone.”

Volunteers from local congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came together to sort shoes by size and help transport items to distribution sites.

“Service blesses both the giver and the receiver,” said Kerry Stiles, Women’s Ministry Leader. “It’s incredibly meaningful to watch volunteers come together in love and unity, knowing their efforts are lifting real burdens for families. Everyone walks away changed—for the better.

Cornerstone partners with schools and organizations across the area to identify students in need and ensure the items reach them before the first day of school. The annual drive continues to grow thanks to increased community involvement and support.

“This is what community looks like,” said Weddle. “We’re honored to be a small part of helping kids feel ready to learn and thrive.”
