Christmas, Community, Light the World

Light the World Yard Signs Spread Message of Love

Multiple congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout D/FW wanted to flood their communities with the message of Light the World with Love. Thousands of yard signs were distributed to Latter-day Saints to display throughout the Christmas season with a QR code that directs people to LightTheWorld.org. The impact of yard signs all around the local neighborhoods has created a heightened awareness of the message of love and service and initiated conversations with friends and neighbors.

One Latter-day Saint in Flower Mound shared, “While living in an apartment, we put a Light the World sign in our window that faced the parking lot. One day, a man knocked on our door and asked about it! We had a good chat about light and what it means. He said he felt God speak to him earlier that year to learn more about light so he was super excited when he saw our sign up! He knew about members of the Church of Jesus Christ and had some friends who were Latter-day Saints. He was moving (that same day) but he said he’d look into the Church when he got to where he was moving. I gave him the Light the World calendar as he said goodbye. It was a very uplifting conversation and experience!”

Another member shared, “Got a knock on the door and it was a neighbor who lives down the street from us and someone we do not know. She’s older and said she needed help moving some large items to her curb for the trash tomorrow because of her arthritis. She asked if anyone in our house could help. Anyway, she saw our yard sign and asked if we were Mormon to which I replied ‘YES! We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’. So because of the sign, she felt comfortable knocking on our door and said she knew that we were good people who could help her. Ended up talking to her for over 30 minutes and got to know her better. All because of the yard sign!
