In a landmark effort to bring together thousands of young single adults (YSAs) across Texas and Oklahoma, a growing network of YSA Ambassadors has been called, uniting under a shared purpose: to personally invite, uplift, and include every YSA in this year’s regional YSA conference. Their work isn’t just logistical—it’s ministerial. And it represents one of the largest ministering efforts ever undertaken across Texas and Oklahoma in recent memory.

The YSA Ambassador Program was initially proposed by the DFW YSA Conference planning committee to the North America Southwest Area presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in late April 2025, in response to a clear and humbling insight: while last year’s conference was deeply impactful, particularly among those in YSA-designated wards, it largely failed to reach young single adults in non-YSA family wards. These wards make up the majority of the YSA population across Texas and Oklahoma, raising an essential question: How can we extend that same spirit of connection and belonging to the thousands of young adults who may feel overlooked or disconnected in their local wards?
The answer came in the form of faith, friendship, and personal invitations.
A Personal Ministry of Invitation
Inspired by Christ’s pattern of ministering “one by one,” each stake across the coordinating council area has been invited to call a local YSA as an Ambassador—a Young Single Adult leader tasked with ensuring that no YSA in their stake feels unseen. Ambassadors are provided with tools, templates, and support from the regional conference committee; however, the heart of the effort lies in personal connection.
Their role? Simple, yet profound:
- Invite every YSA by name—through texts, phone calls, social media, or in person.
- Coordinate with ward councils to reach those who may be less active or disconnected.
- Help organize rides, financial assistance, and inclusive fellowship.
- Represent their stake’s YSAs to the larger committee and help shape the event
experience.
“This isn’t about filling seats,” said one committee member. “It’s about filling hearts. We’re not promoting an event —we’re extending a hand of belonging.”
A Regionwide Movement
The momentum has been inspiring. As of today, over 50 ambassadors from more than 30 stakes across Texas and Oklahoma are participating in this effort, with more joining every week. Together, these ambassadors represent a historic coalition of young adults united in outreach and faith.
The effect is already visible. Registration numbers for the 2025 DFW YSA Conference are climbing, with more than 1,500 already signed up and hundreds more signing up across the region every week. Ambassadors have reported meaningful conversations, unexpected reconnections, and even spiritual promptings as they reach out—many for the first time—to those who may have
otherwise never heard about the conference.
Equipped for Impact
To support the ambassadors, the planning committee has launched a website (www.dfwysaconference.com) featuring event updates, FAQs, and registration links. Flyers and social media content are readily available, and stake leaders are encouraged to collaborate and amplify outreach.
In one stake, an ambassador teamed up with Relief Society and Elders Quorum leaders to personally visit each YSA. In another, a ward hosted a pre-conference social night to encourage sign-ups. Across the board, creativity and spirit are shaping a new kind of ministry—one that blends digital tools with discipleship.
Looking Ahead to August
This year’s conference, held August 15–16 at the Irving Convention Center, promises an unforgettable weekend of devotionals, workshops, service, and activities. With the capacity to host over 4,000 attendees and lodging provided free of charge, the experience is designed to be both accessible and uplifting. A highlight of the weekend includes a keynote speaker, temple sessions, a dance, a lake day, and a Saturday night concert. But more than the events, it’s the spirit of invitation that defines the conference.
“We’re Not Just Organizing a Conference—We’re Gathering Zion”
As one YSA conference coordinator recently said, “We’re not just organizing a conference—we’re gathering Zion. Every person we reach out to matters. Every person belongs.”
The YSA Ambassador program stands as a testimony to what can happen when young adults are entrusted to lead, minister, and unify. Across Texas and Oklahoma, a quiet movement of love and invitation is growing—one text, one call, one personal invitation at a time. And thanks to the work of these ambassadors, thousands more may now have the opportunity to come, feel, and belong.
