It takes many cogs in the community wheel to keep our neighborhoods safe, responsible, educated, and well-planned. The people who do those services may live next door, down the block, or across the street. But, they are always our neighbors with an eye to making our towns better places for all of us to live.
On Monday, May 23, 2022, several community leaders from throughout the Little Elm region enjoyed a Hutchins Barbeque lunch and a heartfelt “thank you” from The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. The event was held in the Church’s Oak Point building located at 8801 Martop Rd in Aubrey.
President Doug Freeman, who leads the seven Church of Jesus Christ congregations in the Little Elm area, shared a brief presentation outlining what contributions Church members have made to the communities and detailing the many resources they have to share with neighbors in times of need. Those resources include fluency in 28 languages, emergency response systems, and community classes in finances, English, and other current topics.
It was a great chance to get to know many civic leaders and for them to get to know the Church as a valuable neighbor that is ready and willing to support the building of our communities.
