Local Church Group Sponsors Monthly ‘Cars & Christ’ Event

FRISCO, TX—Nothing brings people together like shared passions. Or so believes Jonathan Ord and his wife, Stacey, who recently moved to Frisco with their family from San Clemente, Calif.
They brought with them a passion both for luxury cars and Jesus Christ. Coming to the area on a special assignment, the Ords are on a mission to help everyone know and love their Savior — including car enthusiasts. The Ords lead a group of some 180 full-time missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in the Dallas area.
“We love the gospel of Jesus Christ and want to share it [with everyone.] I thought man, let’s get people that have a passion for something and link it to our passion for Christ,” says Jonathan Ord.In the spirit of bringing people together, organizers of the event hope that those who love exotic cars and have a desire to feel the love of Jesus Christ will join them each month to come together as a community and socialize with their neighbors.
“[Everyone] needs to understand that they are sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father, and they have divine potential to become like Him.”
Last month, at January’s event, more than 200 classic and luxury cars attended, with social media influencers and personalities participating.
With four events now under their belt, the Ords report that the gathering continues to grow. This family-friendly event meets on the first Saturday of every month at 10400 Legacy Drive in Frisco with the next event on February 3. Donuts and hot cocoa will be provided.
