MESQUITE, TX – Twenty-six pallets of food will be delivered Wednesday to Sharing Life, 3795 W. Emporium Circle in Mesquite, from 2-4 p.m. to be distributed among 12 local food pantries.

The organizations collectively serve more than 34,000 people monthly and will collect their goods at Sharing Life. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is donating the food as part of its effort to alleviate hunger and spread kindness.

The donation is timed to support World Kindness Day on Nov. 13 as the Thanks-Giving Foundation organizes World Kindness Week in Dallas. The initiative includes a public festival in the Dallas Arts District on Nov. 15 and a keynote address by New York Times columnist David Brooks at Temple Emanu-El on Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Dallas Independent School District is participating, and more than 1 million stickers will be distributed throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area that week.
