Pet Industry CEO to Speak at DFW Leadership Series

The DFW Leadership Series is set to welcome Roger Morgan, Founder and CEO of pawTree, as their speaker on October 27th in Colleyville. The Series, sponsored by the Colleyville Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, hosts monthly events with insights from local business and government leaders.

Roger Morgan, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Southlake, is the founder and CEO of pawTree, a direct-to-consumer pet nutrition company he launched in 2014 that now has over 2000 sales representatives across all 50 states. PawTree has received numerous awards and recognition including Harvard Business School New Venture Competition Regional Winner (2013); Rising Star Award from the Direct Selling Association (2018); Dallas 100-SMU’s Fastest Growing Companies in Dallas (2015, 2021); Inc 5000-One of America’s Fastest Growing Companies (2020).

Prior to founding his pet nutrition company, Roger served as President and CEO of Hero Pet Brands in Dallas for seven years and more than tripled the business during his tenure. Before joining Hero Pet Brands, Mr. Morgan gained business strategy experience with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he optimized growth strategies for multi-national organizations, including two years working in Paris, France. Prior work experience also includes positions at Walt Disney Imagineering in business strategy and development, and at KPMG LLP, where he obtained his CPA.

Roger has served as the Chairman of the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Vice Chairman of PetSmart Charities. He has also served on the boards of directors of the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) and several private equity-backed pet companies. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Accounting, with a Minor in Music, from Brigham Young University.

Roger’s hobbies include golf, playing the drums, songwriting, and public speaking to youth groups. He and his wife, Susan, live in Southlake, Texas, and have three daughters. Their youngest daughter, Katie, is currently serving a mission in Hong Kong.
