Southlake Youth Serve GRACE Grapevine to Support Struggling Neighbors
Service-minded teens from Southlake congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints volunteered to set up GRACE Grapevine‘s annual fundraiser event Saturday, as part of Global Youth Service Day. This day is set apart as “the largest youth service and civic action event in the world and the only one that celebrates and builds the capacity of all youth ages 5-25 to help our communities and democracy thrive by working together for the common good.“ GRACE’s sold out event, Designer Bag Bingo, was held at 5-Star Subaru and sponsored in large part by Trusted Realty.
“Tonight we had a great group of young people helping us set up,” said Christina Cates, Community Engagement Director at GRACE. “The Church of Jesus Christ in Southlake and Grapevine is always so supportive with our efforts, and we are so appreciative.”
“They’re hard workers; it’s impressive. They’re here on a Saturday night when they could be out with their friends, but they’re here setting up for GRACE. We’re proud of them,” said Roger Morgan, who serves as a youth leader.
