Weddings in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints take place between a man and a woman. Couples get married, or “sealed,” in the temple for time and all eternity, not just “till death do you part.”
We go to temples to worship. The endowment ceremony teaches about God’s Plan of Happiness for all of God’s children and invites us to enter into sacred promises, called covenants, between us and God.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that temples are the holiest places on Earth. When a temple is first built, there is an open house, and anyone can go inside. After the temple is dedicated, only faithful members of the Church can enter.
