200 Youth Put Together Party Favor Bags For Birthday Party Project
More than 200 youth from Carrollton, Texas joined forces in honor of Global Youth Service Day, eager to make a difference in the lives of youth in need. They rallied behind The Birthday Party Project, a non profit organization working to spread joy to homeless teens and children through birthday celebrations. The organization blesses children all across the United States with headquarters right here in North Texas.
The youth enthusiastically put together 790 party favor bags, thanks to donations from families in the community. The bags were filled with a variety of items including: fidget toys, play-doh, card games, and toiletries. The youth filled each bag uniquely and individually, which will make for a delightful surprise.
Kandyce McCracken, who organized the service project said, “This effort means a month’s worth of parties for those in need, promising countless smiles and moments of happiness.”
“It’s always good to interact with my friends/peers while helping the community,” said 17-year-old Brooke Phillips, who participated in the event. “It’s more fun to serve when you’re working with friends. Plus, I liked putting together color coordinated birthday party favors.”
