Envision Dallas Seeking Volunteers In Transition to New Facility

Envision Dallas is offering an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of their employees. The non profit organization, which employs more than 100 blind and visually impaired individuals, is moving its facility into the city of Farmers Branch. They are asking for help in orienting their employees in the new 210,000 square foot workplace located at 1801 Valley View Lane. Volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition and helping them adapt to their new environment.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years old and complete a two-hour training session. Volunteers will then work alongside the Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialists to carry out the training plan. They will assist staff in familiarizing employees with the new space. They will then practice pathways and guide them to their workstation, restroom, breakrooms, and more.

Envision Dallas recently held a special training for volunteers at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse in Carrollton. Twenty-five volunteers attended the training and have been assisting the staff in the new facility. Some of those who attended the training have a connection to a blind or visually impaired family member, others just wanted to donate their time for a good cause.

“It is inspiring to see what we as humans can accomplish when we work together,” said Andrea Roueche, a resident from Carrollton who attended the training. “The Envision employees – both sighted and blind – were a delight to work with. I’m looking forward to going back later this week.”

Envision Dallas is still looking for volunteers to help. There are more training dates throughout the month of May. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts and recurring spots throughout the project. An online training is available to volunteers interested.

“Your dedication to our cause is truly commendable, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your support,” says Stacy Fuller, Vice President of Rehabilitation Services. “Together, we can make this transition a seamless and positive experience for everyone involved.”
